Ovechkin is unreal
I have been to see the Washington Capitols play in Dallas and twice in DC, mainly because of Alexander Ovechkin. He is an unbelievable hockey player
Go Stars!
What a great scene last night for Dallas Stars fans. It has been a while since I have had this good feeling after a playoff series has ended. I am not here to write a sports column, lord knows there are too many places to get sports info. I couldn’t ignore the great feeling I am having today and even better, this city seems to be in a good mood. Well.. for those who follow the local sports scene that is.
Masters and Stanley Cup

In my own opinion, the 2 best sporting events start today. The Masters and the Stanley Cup Playoffs (Go Stars). They could not be more different, but the both have one very big thing in-common, tradition. For some reason, they have become a big big part of me. Well, it is hard to admit, but I have been watching the masters for over 30 years.. is that possible? wow. I could not imagine going a year without watching either one. The best thing about watching this year is it will be the first time I watch in HD.
Hello, Conn Smythe!

I love it when the universe aligns and my team gets the player. The Dallas Stars acquired Brad Richards today. Happy day.
Kick in the Gut
For those of you that know me, you are assured to get an earful about something sports related. Living in Dallas, we are spoiled by having local teams that do well and make us proud.
Last night, all of that ended. There is nothing left in Dallas at the moment to be proud of. The Dallas Mavericks were the first team in NBA history to lose the way they did. Winning a club record 67 games in the regular season, they were matched against the Golden State Warriors, a team that lost 25 less games, barely making in the playoffs. Making it even worse, We lost to a team that is coached by money grubbing Don Nelson.
My beloved Stars lost in the first round a couple weeks ago. At least I had the Mavs to count on to get my sports fix. NO! Way to go Mavs, I now have something else to be completely embarrassed by. So, lets wrap this up by this list of recent Dallas sports failures:
1. Dallas Mavericks ousted by Golden State
2. Dallas Stars beat yet again the first round by Vancouver
3. EDS Byron Nelson. Ugly Brown greens, and only 2 of the top 10 players in the World playing.
4. Texas Rangers Who? 2nd to last place in baseball
It is going to be a long long Summer.
