Every time I am away from Dallas, I am amazed how many people are walking. I am not talking about a little stroll, for most.. it is transportation. I was in Seattle last week, even in the rain and cold, everyone was out and about. The weather did not seem to phase them. In Dallas, I would not dream of this. I am guilty of getting in my car to go down the street and griping about not finding a parking place. Austin is probably the only city in Texas that walking is a way of life and might I go so far a saying, socially acceptable. I dont know when we became so pedestrian challenged. It feels good to get out and walk around, look at the buildings and people. My time driving down the street is coming to an end it seems. Wonder what I will do when it is 104 outside?
