I have been fascinated with storms and especially lightning for as long as I can remember. Growing up in San Antonio, Texas, we had storms all the time, especially in the Spring. When I was 13 years old, I built a camera to photograph lightning for my school science fair. The camera was a simple pin-hole camera made out of cardboard sealed with black gaffe tape, bolts and wing nuts for loading / advancing 35mm film. (more…)
It has always been important to me to pass on my love of weather to my family, so we decided to chase storms together on the last day. We drove 8 hours from Dallas, TX to Guymon, Oklahoma and caught this amazing supercell at sunset. My family has been such a huge part of the Clouds 365 Project, I could NOT have done it without them. They love this project as much as I do. I wanted to honor and thank them with this last image. Don’t worry Grandma’s, the storm looks closer than it was!
Thank you so much for your support over the years, you have meant so much to me. I promise, I will continue to look up in amazement and photograph the skies, that is for sure. For now, I will take a bit of a break and reflect. Look for a book within the year hopefully!

Through my past job as a marketing director at a large plaintiff law firm, I was able to meet some really incredible people. For me, being with Barack Obama during his campaign was a night I will not soon forget.
